Ronnie Probstein was a close friend of our family and a wonderful mentor to me. When I was a high school student, he gave me the opportunity to work at his company one summer helping them set up a small business computer. I also baby sat for his son Sid, although that later expanded to more mature tasks like teaching him some basics of computer programming. Ronnie was always kind and supportive, giving me crucial advice at key junctures in my academic life at MIT. My deepest sympathies go out to his family at this hard time.
