RUTH OSHIN Obituary

OSHIN, Ruth Joyce Finn Age 58, of Weston, CT, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Born in Chestnut Hill, MA, she was the cherished daughter of Lois (Feinberg) Finn and the late Alvan D. Finn. Ruth graduated from the Winsor School of Boston, MA. She graduated cum laude with a B.A. from Tufts University and an M.B.A from the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University. Ruth was a marketing and brand management executive. Ruth was an active volunteer in her community, serving as PTO President for the Weston Intermediate School PTO. The role she treasured most was that of mother to Matthew and Alexa Oshin. Since 2009, Ruth battled ALS. Her determination enabled her to raise her children, seeing them through high school and into college. Ruth also leaves her beloved husband, Larry Oshin of Weston, CT; her sister, Alice Finn of Lincoln, MA; her brother, Eliot Finn of Brookline, MA; her sister-in-law, Diane Oshin; her brother-in-law, Dr. Sid Mandelbaum of New York, NY; her niece, Kaylee Finn-Henry; her nephews, Michael Finn-Henry, David Mandelbaum, and Jared Mandelbaum; her mother-in-law, Carol (Rothschild) Oshin of Tenafly, NJ; her extended family, and many, many dear friends. I am somehow just learning this news. I didn't know Ruth well but knew her well enough to know she was a fun kind and lovely person. Our twins played together when they were very young. Sending my heartfelt condolences to her family.

Our belated condolences to the Oshin family. Regrettably, we did not have the fortune of knowing the Oshins prior to Ruth's passing, though it is clear to our family, Ruth was well loved and a wonderful, accomplished, and caring friend, wife, mother, and family member; and will be dearly missed by all. Sending our warmest regards to the Oshin family and friends, who are missing their loved one around the holidays. Thinking of you all. Best wishes, Dan, Hayley, & Declan M.

I think the late Ruth Osine is an outstanding member of our community! Her legacies, Mathew and Alexa, probably don't think of their mother as the graceful figure skater that she was. She was definitely full of the magic of a triple toe spin. Defying her limitations for the love of her children.

So very sorry to hear of Ruth´s passing. We were acquainted way back when the boys were little through Weston Newcomers and Neighbors playgroups. Ruth was a lovely person and a force. I recall her as president of the PTO urging us all to get more involved and saying, "Hey, if I can do it, you can do it." :). Wishing her family and friends peace. May her memory be a blessing.

I was saddened to learn of Ruth's passing. My deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. I am so grateful I got to meet her and will miss her family update emails. She was immensely proud of her children and the strong independent adults they were growing into. May her memory be a blessing.

I met Ruthy when I worked with her at Reebok, which is where we became friends. She was so fun and kind and always invited me to join her family for the Jewish holidays. I have so many memories of Ruthy and I loved that she sent me a holiday card every year with Matthew and Alexa's photo on it. I am sending my deepest condolences to her family!
