Samuel GUIFFRE Obituary

GUIFFRE, Samuel Leonard 1944-2012. Wellesley, MA and Roxbury, VT Beloved and remembered by former design students, corporate colleagues, choir members, dear friends and loving family; Sam was known for sharing his design expertise, musical skill, boundless energy, enthusiasm and creative gifts with others. He will be remembered for his love of cathedrals, a passion for religious and classical music, his elegant corporate and residential designs, his love of planning parties and celebrations and most of all his goodness as a person who cared deeply for others. He especially will be remembered as a devoted husband and loving father. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Guiffre, his sons Christopher Guiffre and Jonathan Guiffre and his grandchildren, Madison, Max, Brooke, Troy and Caden. Alzheimer's disease claimed his life after an eight year struggle, yet much too soon for those who loved him. Memorial Gifts in Sam's memory may be made to your local hospice group, so that they may provide compassionate care for others in their final days. A Memorial Service to celebrate Sam's life will be held at Trinity Church Boston, 206 Clarendon Street, Boston, MA Tuesday. March 20, 2012 At 7 O'clock PM

I am just seeing this now, 13 years later. I had Professor Guiffre at Mt Ida College for Art History. He was truly my inspiration for a lifelong love of art. I am just now becoming an art teacher in San Diego and he is the reason why. Such a wonderful man. Kind and his enthusiasm was contagious. So sorry to hear he passed. Thank you for everything Prof Guiffre. Also, I did go to the Getty Museum as you recommended and your right it was amazing.

Dear Dotti and Family,
I was saddened to hear of Sam's death. So young. I am sure he fought a long battle and the love and support you all offered provided him some comfort. It is a terrible disease...lost my aunt to it and I know how difficult it can be to be the caretaker as well as a patient.
My heart is full with your loss and I wish you my deepest sympathy.
Regards.
