Sam was one of my professors at Suffolk Law School in Boston in the 1980s. He taught a clinical program where students could argue cases in court under his supervision. Ours was the housing program where we represented indigent tenants in Boston Housing Court. He told us that it was impossible to screw up because the Housing Code read like it was written by a pissed off tenant. Nevertheless, up against experienced lawyers we still found a way to step in it from time to time and Sam had a great time telling us how. I learned a lot from him. I'm recently retired after a 36 year career practicing law and he made a meaningful contribution to my development as a lawyer. He was a good man and I wasn't alone in considering him a friend after the class ended. My condolences to his family.

Dear Samuel III.....I think we met perhaps, when you were just a baby. I am your dad's cousin, Sarina. My mother, Sadie, and your grandfather, Sam, were siblings. Although, as adults, our times together were very few and far between, my memories of your dad always make me smile. The obituary was right on, Sammy was a special "one of a kind". The memories I have are mostly of us as kids, we in CT and the two Marcellino families in Milton. Summer visits were always a treat, and they went both ways, a week in CT or MA. It was such a big raucous family with your dad's family and Uncle Bill's family whenever we were all togther...it was wonderful, and they are wonderful memories!
I am so sorry for your loss of your dad, and more so, that Francesca won't know him. I'm sure it was lovely for him to have that brief meeting with her. You and Brittany will be in my thoughts and prayers as you make your way through this difficult time.
Sending you love and hugs,
