DiMAIO, Sandra "Alessandrina" 91, of Cambridge, June 16. She was a lifelong Cambridge resident, born on April 24, 1925. Beloved daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Camelio. Loving wife of the late Thomas. Devoted mother of Joanne Nelson and her husband Ron Rairigh, Lois DiMaio and her life partner Jimmy Mercado. Dear sister of Louise Vitagliano and her husband Joe, the late Bob Camelio, Carl Camelio and Betty Mangone. Survived by sister in law Francis Camelio plus many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Donovan-Aufiero Funeral Home, 140 Otis St., EAST CAMBRIDGE, Friday from 9-10:30 AM followed by a Rite of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Church, 49 Sixth St., Cambridge at 11:00 AM. Interment Cambridge Cemetery. Sandra enjoyed going to art receptions, picnics and numerous events in the city. She was very active in her community and was responsible for making her street one way, getting rid of the barrel factory that was polluting the area and she also petitioned the city to eliminate trucks from driving on her street. Sandra loved animals, especially her cat, "Kitty". She spent a lot of time taking care of her peach trees which she loved especially when they blossomed. donovanaufierofuneralhome.com
