SARAH HURD Obituary

Hurd, Sarah Lindley
Of Beverly, formerly of Milton, passed away peacefully in hospice care on November 16, surrounded by her children, after a brief period of declining health. She was ninety years old. Sarah was born in Baltimore, grew up in Wilmington, DE, and married her eternal partner, Benjamin Hurd, in 1951. She joins him now in everlasting love. Sarah is survived by her daughter Suzan and husband Jim Power of Mashpee, son Cushing and wife Pamela of The Villages, FL, son Chawner and wife Eleanor of Lakeville, daughter Louise of Marblehead, and son Lindley of Brookline. Additionally, she is survived by twelve deeply loved grandchildren: Abby, Sam, Jenny, Matt, Amanda, Chris, Ben, Pete, Woody, Sara, Zoe, and Kira; as well as six great grandchildren. Sarah was a lover of life, her kids, her grandkids, and her deepest love of all, Benjamin. She also loved volunteering, all things YMCA, completing a list, and cookies. She will be forever missed. The funeral will be a private service for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in Sarah's name to the Marblehead YMCA, or to the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Arrangements are by Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport.

Dear Suzie, Cushing, Chawner, Louise and Lindley and all family members,
I haven't seen any of you (except for Suzie) in many years, but have thought about the fun we used to have when we visited your home as children. I have very fond memories of those times which include your Mom and Dad as well. It sounds like your Mom lived a long full life and was very blessed having you all around her. Sending prayers for peace to all.
Warmly, Laure Spooner Frank
