SAUL OSTROFF Obituary

OSTROFF, Saul Born June 2, 1946, Saul M. Ostroff of Natick lost his valiant battle with cancer on April 15, 2017. Saul was an incredibly strong man who, as an attorney, fought for his clients for over 40 years. When not in the courtroom, he could be found under the hood of a car in his driveway or repairing small engines in his workshop. Saul never met a machine or a tool he couldn't find a use for, and may be the only lawyer in history who invited clients to his home for brake repairs. Saul is survived by his wife of 44 years, Arlene (Seidberg), and his sons, David Phillip Ostroff and his wife Sara Jaffe of Arlington, VA, and Andrew Louis Ostroff of Brooklyn, NY. Saul was grandfather to two beautiful girls, Hannah Jaffe Ostroff and Nora Ruby Ostroff. He was a devoted son of the late Norman and Sarah Ostroff and loving brother of Judy Ostroff Litwak, and Helene Ostroff Faneuil and her husband Edward. Additionally, Saul is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. After graduating from Brookline High in 1964, Saul went on to graduate from Franklin Pierce University and The New England School of Law before joining his father's law practice which he would eventually take over. He was a member of the Middlesex Deputy Sheriff's Office and a Justice of the Peace for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Services will be held at the Wilson Chapel, 234 Herrick Rd., NEWTON, MA, on Thursday, April 20 at 11am. Burial will follow at Moses Mendelsohn Cemetery, 350 Grove St., West Roxbury, MA. Following the interment, a celebration of Saul's life will take place at Pine Brook Country Club, 42 Newton St., Weston, MA from 1pm-4pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cancer Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, 330 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.

Arlene, I am sorry that I only learned today of Sauls passing. I have many memories of our childhood together. He loved fishing and mechanical projects. Saul taught me how to tie knots on fishing lines and many other things.
Sauls Family was in many times like my own. Sauls Mom treated me as if i was her Son and Norman had a great smile and sense of humor. Judy and Helene were also good to me.
I am sorry that we moved apart over the years, and I never met your children. You are in my thoughts.

The Godfather is what I called him. "I cant keep pulling rabbits out of a hit" is what he would always tell me. Even came and visited me on Thanksgiving Day, not too many lawyers I knew, would do that. He will be missed. My condolonces to his family.

I'm sorry I heard the news too late to attend any of the remembrances. I will always remember Saul from the days of sharing office space and he was knowledgeable about things you would not expect an average person to know about. Even when we last spoke, he remained in great spirits and I will always remember him fondly. He was always so full of pride of his family. My thoughts are with you all.
