BEVINS, Scott Our beloved Scott Bevins left us on August 23 after a decade battling Alzheimer's. His humor, love of family, music, sports, friends, and of life were with him to the end. For two years, Sarah Hoit and their devoted children, Wesley (21) and Samantha (19), visited his memory care center faithfully, bringing friends, games, family photo albums, and his little dog. Despite his loss of speech, he laughed and sang, and "danced" with Sarah. Their final dances were to their wedding song, "You Say It Best When You Say Nothing At All". Scott graced the world with his joy and many talents. He was a superior athlete in high school and college, with 15 varsity letters from Marblehead High School and Williston Academy, captain of his tennis and hockey teams, playing hockey at Lake Forest College, sailing in the summers, skiing in the winter, sculpting, writing poetry, and telling stories. His work focused first on hospitality, helping to manage hotels and restaurants, but Scott spent most of his career in executive search, until he transitioned happily to working from home as a full-time Dad. Coaching was his favorite job. He created and led the Northeastern men's tennis team. He coached hockey starting in college and loved coaching his children's teams. He taught Sarah and the children to ski and play golf, treasuring their vacations in Chatham and Stowe, VT. His love for his children and pride in their accomplishments was the center of his life. He wore St. Lawrence and Dartmouth hats they brought him, followed their triumphs, cherished his time with them, broke out with joyful cheers when they visited, and never forgot who they were. Scott's family is dedicated to being a part of the solution to the epidemic of Alzheimer's. For years, Wesley and Samantha have organized fundraisers for organizations seeking a cure. This mission has also inspired Sarah's career; as co-founder and CEO of Connected Living, and now in biotechnology at Bio Vie, focused on a cure for Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases. Love is endless and Scott will be with us forever. A private Celebration of Scott's Life will be held in Chatham. The family welcomes donations in Scott's honor to: UsAgainstAlzheimer's
