Sophie was an amazing woman. We enjoyed many family times with her and her beloved Teddy. Teddy was my husband's godfather so he spent many hours while growing up at the family house on Buttonwood Street. Sophie also took care of Aunt Rosie, Father-in-law Julius and Aunt Phyllis Cikacz. There was always someone talking at the kitchen table.
They loved to chat about their trips around the world and Sophie always brought back trinkets for us from all their destinations. Her love of her family and her Polish heritage made her the go to for those coming to Dorchester from Poland. She was always taking someone to medical appointments or to immigration. Some days we'd chat and she said she was exhausted after a long day of translating at various locations. We suggested that she take some time for herself. But her response would always be who else will do it. Sophie was a woman of great faith and compassion. She will be missed. Now she is reunited with her beloved husband Teddy. Rest In Peace Sophie...
