STEPHEN BRUNO Obituary

BRUNO, Stephen C. Of Brookline, MA and North Adams, MA, beloved son of the late Julia Woolhouse Bruno, Brookline, MA and the late John J. Bruno, San Luis Obispo, CA, died on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Mount Auburn Hospital, after a lengthy illness. He was 67 years old and an only child. Born on January 20, 1956 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston, MA. Stephen spent his early childhood years in North Adams, whose rural beauty and mountains he enjoyed immensely. He attended Brookline High School, later graduating from Newman Prep. He received a BS in engineering in 1992 from Northeastern University and many years later, studied at Tufts University, where he received a MS in Electrical Engineering in 2011. He was well respected by his Tufts professors, especially his advisors. Stephen struggled from multiple health conditions all his life. He had been fortunate to have received a liver transplant in 2016, which gifted him seven additional years of life for which he remained grateful. Stephen's most distinguishing characteristics were his steadfast kindness and his care for others. He loved a good party with family, festive holiday meals and neighborhood block parties. He especially loved Christmas and enjoyed fireworks and would walk to wherever he could to get a good view of them. Family and friends are warmly invited to come together to Celebrate his Life on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Visiting Hours will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Brookline, MA, beginning at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:15 AM, and internment will be in Mount Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to, UMass Memorial Health, Transplant dept., 55 Lake Ave. North, Worcester, MA, (508) 334-1269 or St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 3 Linden Place, Brookline, MA 02445, (617) 734-02445.

Stephen spoke to me of his Aunt Rosalie often and didn´t realize she had passed away before him. He is with her now and with his mother and father, his aunts, uncles, cousins.
I think he is at peace. May his memory be a blessing to those of us who knew and loved him.

Please give my mom, your aunt Rosalie a hug when you arrive. I miss her terribly and she will be so happy to see you. Your cousin Greg.
