It is with deep sadness that I learned today of Stephen's passing. We were law school classmates and good friends for many years. Unfortunately, time has a way of separating friends and I truly regret that we lost track of each other. I used to call Stephen "Prepy" in law school; I am not sure he liked it but he tolerated it and me. He really wasn't a prepy but he looked the part. He was hard working and very smart. I truly respected his sense of honor and duty.
He and I were first year associates at BDG. He actually persuaded me to apply for the job and vouched for me during the interview process. I owe him the start of my career .
After graduation we kept in contact for many years as our careers progressed. Our last visit was in his office in Boston, I believe Juliette had just been born or was in the pouch, time is a blur.
Stephen loved animals. He was a gentle soul Jokingly,he once suggested to me that the Constitution should be amended so that every three dogs should have one vote in federal elections. He always thought big, I suggested he should start with Massachusetts first to see how that worked out.
My thoughts and prayers are with Stephen. My deepest condolences to Taryn, Stephen Jr. and Juliette.
Sincerely,
Robert P. Lombardi

May the God of all comfort strengthen the family during this time of deep sorrow. Those who pass on, God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. My sincerest condolences. (Psalms 116:15)
