Dearest - I love you. I wish i forced you to see the doctor - But you knew. Looking back, I know I should have seen the signs. You didn't yell at me for a whole month!! But you made me smile and laugh on my worst days. Your flowers are planted and I will take care of them and help Eileen, my sweetheart. I too tried to count the cars in the funeral line, I know you'd have wanted to know how many cars were there and who was first in line. ps Dearest, I was in front of my sister!! HA, HA.. but I don't need to tell you that, you were watching from heaven. I love you always. Featherhead

June 25th
Stevie told me not to spend all my winnings because a "special day was coming up, June 25th", quietly he reminded me, "my birthday". First of all his birthday was never a quiet occasion and did not last only ONE day. Butta, I hope you're having a great celebration with those you have missed for so long.
I love ya, Happy Birthday.

To all the Gallagher family,
I'm so sorry to hear about Butta. He was my best friend, my room mate for a while and I spent countless hours with your family especially Mary and Babe and Eileen on the front porch talking about our lives and antics. I also remeber all the family functions I attended and how I felt part of the Gallagher clan for many years. It was just a short walk over Sagamore hill which I made hundreds of times. I also remember the rides in the Delt 88 (AKA the ecology mobile) through Hull, to the Sands, the Beach Comber, into Boston, and many other places. We spent countless hours in Fascitnation rolling those stupid little balls trying to win some money. We were like brothers back then. He was a big part of my youth. I wish I could have made it there for the sendoff. It sounds like he had a great one. Everybody loved Butta and he always stould up for me like a brother would and I for him. I will never forget Butta and all you Gallaghers who always treated me like part of the family. God bless you all and I'm so sorry for your loss.

Kathy/Ed, Maureen/Joe, Michael/Denise, Eileen, and Jamie …

My note to Stephen who will be so missed …………

Stephen/Stevie G/ Butter: You would have been so delighted with the audience you’ve had the past couple of days! Family and friends had so many wild and entertaining stories about your antics.

I have never attended services so mixed with emotion – truly sadness for your leaving us too soon yet coupled with so much laughter with outrageous photos & many, many, many, many tales. You touched more hearts than I think you even you realize.

Yesterday and today you would have been wild with excitement – you had a first rate audience – yet lacking their entertainer …YOU.

Today at Mass (while you were watching) …..Know you are so proud of your nieces, nephews & a special friend. Katie, Brian, Maura, Ali, Chrissy, Jamie, Tim, Patrick, Joey, Chris and Teresa – they were all so sad and so displayed their affection & love for you as we all said goodbye.

I’m sure you are now entertaining those who for a long time have missed your tales & antics… Mary & Alfred, Nana Kelly & so many others!

Stephen, I will truly miss your tales & antics (my partner who was always available to sneak out for a smoke!)

Stephen before I sign off for now … like your measurement of birthday wishes (or lack thereof), I’m sure you were delighted that your arrival in Hull required a police escort!!! And the procession of cars …………..we tried to count & couldn’t … too many.

Kathy, Maureen, Michael & Eileen …. Stephen was a gem! Someone who it did his way, had a terrific time, entertained everyone & adored & cherished each of you & your families

:Love, Maureen

To the Gallagher Family,
My condolences on the loss of Stephen, whose exuberance for life was legendary. He lit up every experience, from the routine bus rides home from school (never routine if he was on the bus!) to the memorable high school trip to Spain we took in 1971 with Senor Goodyear.
He lives on in our collective, joyful memories of him.
Peace,
Maria Judge (and my mother and siblings)

To All,
I will never forget "butter"! I just laughed reading all the condolences and how they referred to him as "butter"! We always called him by that. I remember going to "bingo" and him yelling "Shake 'em up"! I remember the "Surf" and the great dancer that he was! He made everyone smile and left so many memories! My prayers are with you at this very sad time.
Take care,
Mary

Dear Gallaghers,

How can I ever forget Stevie, and the rest of your wonderful family? You used to "park" next to us at Nantasket every weekend, and we spent so many happy times playing in the sand together.

Stevie always had a sunburned nose, wearing liberal globs of zinc oxide, and his bathing trunks were perpetually drooping. He was a ball of fire then, and after reading some of the comments in this guest book, see that he maintained his zest for living and an endless sense of fun throughout his life.

Never forget the good times. They were absolutely the best!

As we Greeks say, "May his memory be eternal."

Stevie(butter)always lit up a room when he entered always a laugh with him he will be missed so much.

Dear Gallaghers,

It made me very sad to read of Stevie's death. I will always remember him from the beach, as your family used to "park" next to mine down Nantasket every weekend. Stevie was the funny kid, the one with the sunburnt nose and droopy bathing suit.

There are many fond memories of interracting with the Gallagher Clan...one time Maureen (I think it was you)...went into the water on one of those inflatable toys, and drifted out too far and my Uncle Peter swam out to help you back.

Stevie was a mischief maker back in the day, very cute with all those freckles. I can see from reading the guest book that his sense of fun carried on throughout his lifetime.

Stevie Gallagher was "the kid at the beach," our childhood pal and playmate, ever young and happy, making sand castles and splashing in the perfect ocean. This is how I shall always remember him because Stevie was and still is the epitome of a great day at the beach.

As we Greeks say "May his memory be eternal."

To the Gallagher Family,
I can't express how much all Stevie's friends are going to miss him. Butta is always a loving pal for me -- and so many others. He always remembered friends birthdays, new babies, sympathies, life occasions, and showed he cared. He was very supportive through many times in my life and was always a true and thoughtful friend.
"Stevie G" went to any length to give his loved ones a laugh. He would tell me, sometimes is was "just too exhausting to entertain all the time!", then he would do something else to crack us up. Steve has enriched all our lives, there will never be another one like him. It's been wonderful to experience his giant personality and "wreckless abandon". He always had some nutty dilema happen or another. I always thought he would be a great sitcom. Stevie wasn't rich, not for lack of trying in Foxwoods, but his bounty of loved ones makes hime the wealthiest person I have ever met.
I love you Buttacups and I will miss you dearly. Thanks for all the wonderful, crazy memories and most of all, your kind friendship. Give Julie a big hug for me.
Love,
