I called last week to make my usual overdue appointment with Steve for the haircut (and beard trim before it turned white) he had been giving me for over 15 years. Even though I moved from Brookline over 2 years ago, I have continued to maintain this consistent relationship. I was shocked that Steve had left us and thought the receptionist was somehow joking. Steve was a friendly, generous and thoughtful soul. He had a great laugh. We shared stories about Las Vegas, Landlording, Allston, kids, his pool and house addition nightmares and more. Steve generously and unexpectedly comped a haircut for my remarriage last October. I miss him as we all do and will think of him every time my sideburns become too long.
