Steve was a good friend and a child of God. I am so thankful for his faith, for I know that we will see him again. His courage and faith enabled him to experience two things at the end of his life that I know were important milestones--the marriage of his daughter, and the success of his beloved Red Sox in the fall classic. I will miss him.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Steve at Lucent. He was a great and funny guy. He sat in a cubicle with all women. No wonder he was always so chatty. He will be greatly missed.

Diane and all of Steve's family,

I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Thank you for including me on your e-mails as you all dealt with the progression and treatment of this hideous disease. I know it took a lot of perserverence to detail in in an e-mail after having lived through it minute by minute.

May God answer all your prayers and make your days ahead filled with the warm memories of Steve's love for all of you.

I regret not having made a more concerted effort to see him when he was feeling well between treatments.
