I served with Steve in Germany, he was one of a very few people to serve in a Atomic Demolition Squad for the US ARMY. He and I spoke often of our home towns, I grew up in Portsmouth NH. He lived a fine life and the thought shared here confirm what the other squad members knew even at that young age. Rest In Peace.

I'm so sorry and saddened to hear of Steve's passing. He will be missed by all the NAFD and FD retirees, in addition to all others who knew him.
My heart goes out to the family in this time of grief. I hope comfort comes to you from many sources- including the places and the people he loved, good stories and memories, nature and extended family, and the brotherhood that he dedicated his life to.
My prayerful condolences,
