Steve and I used to hang out together in New Haven and train at the local gym. He asked me to review his Roman History paper for one of his classes. He did not know much about the Roman Empire, but he was a great friend. Came upon his obit on revisiting my past in New Haven only recently. RIP

My wife and I walked past a Gant store in Paris this summer and I told her stories of Steve when we were hall mates at prep school in Vermont over 52 years ago. While I lost touch with Steve after we left school and started our adult lives, I always remembered him and some of the times that we shared. I just learned of his passing from John DeRonde this evening and send my condolences to his family. Rest assured that I will spend the evening thinking of those wonderful days that we all spent together so many years ago.

I met Steve many years ago when we were both teenagers in Stowe Vermont. I'll never forget his resourcefulness on a camping/hiking trip in the Adirondack Mountains where nothing was to be had for a meal, Steve produced out of his backpack hamburgers he had purchased at the McDonald's where we had stopped earlier before our climb. Food for everyone!!!!! What a treat that was. I loss track of Steve but never forgot him. He was a good friend.
