STUART W. MANTER

MANTER, Stuart W. Of Dennisport formerly of Dorchester, Weymouth and Quincy passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the age of 91. Husband of the late Barbara (Woodes) Manter of Rochester, N.H. as well as the late Louise (Stafford) Manter of Milton and also the late Frances (Tobin) Manter of Avon. He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Manter of Dennisport and a son Brad Manter of Scarborough, Maine. Grandfather of David Guarino of San Francisco and Emily Manter of Scarborough, Maine. Also survived by a niece Gayle Burns of Brooksville, Fla and five step-children, Wendy Homaleski of Pepperell, Linda Wainright of Old Lyme, CT, Terri Tobin-Young of Bridgewater, Richard Tobin of Newbury and Virginia Klier of Squantum. Stuart served in the U.S. Army for 3 years at the height of WW II. Subsequently he owned a real estate and insurance agency as well as serving as a bank director. He enjoyed downhill skiing as well as boating. But most of all he enjoyed being with family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cape Cod Needy Fund, P. O. Box 804, Hyannis, MA 02601. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 1-3 PM at Morris, O'Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth, MA. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday January 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. A brief graveside service and interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams Street, Dorchester, MA.
