SUZANNE POWELL Obituary

POWELL, Suzanne M. (Drislane) Age 58, formerly of Salem, NH passed away peacefully at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill on May 11, 2021 after a courageous 20-year battle with cancer. Sue was born on June 5, 1962 in Lynn, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of David Drislane, of Lynnfield, and the late Barbara (Daley) Khederian. She was also predeceased by her stepmother, Carol Drislane and stepfather, Oscar Khederian. For many years, Sue worked as a nurse's aide and later ran her own successful housecleaning business. Throughout her life, Sue overcame many trials and obstacles to create an enriching life. Sue was outgoing, feisty, tough, and had no problem speaking her mind. At the same time, she was very caring and would be the first person to give you the shirt off her back. Not to mention, she always knew how to crack a good joke and make people laugh. Sue was very giving and spent much of her time making meals and crocheting afghans for those in need. Her strong spirit and ability to laugh at herself was endearing to all who knew her, right up to the end of her life. In addition to her father, David, Sue is survived by her son, Jeremiah Powell and his partner, Victoria; daughter, Susannah Chamberlain and her husband, James; grandson, Kennedy Chamberlain; sister, Cynthia Tighe; brother, William Drislane and his wife, Virginia; sister, Barbara Drislane; brother, David Drislane and his wife, Erin; stepsister, Kelly Fleese and her husband, Kevin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and her beloved cat, Emma. Visiting Hours: A Memorial Service will take place at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street in MANCHESTER, NH on May 21 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm.
