to all who knew and loved tom, a little known fact about tom was that he loved to write poetry, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, sometimes both. this is a poem we came across at tom's apartment on saturday...
Valentine's Day has come and gone
Leaving some of us all alone
Nobody there to share with
Or even talk to on the phone.
No one around to make you laugh
or to treat to a spectial meal
Not a soul to make you happy
Or tell you, you're a great deal
Lonliness is no bowl of cherries
Nor is it a day at the beach
Nobody around for company
NO ONE within arm's reach
But the one that i feel bad for
who must really be in a funk
Is that poor little teddy bear
who's spent the past year in my trunk!!

I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Tom. I did know Theresa O'Connell. Theresa was a wonderful human being who could laugh through her tears. If Theresa chose Tom to be her companion then he was a wonderful person too. May he rest in peace.
