It hurts me deep in down in my heart to hear about Tom´s passing. I can still see the kind and sincere expression on Tom´s face to this very day. Bonnie, I want to express my true and deepest condolences to you and your family. You and Tom is definitely one of the reasons why I´m patient and understanding of others feelings today. Farr Academy taught me so much. Without you Tom, Bonnie, and other great teachers at Farr Academy, I don´t know where I would be at today. I love you Bonnie and Tom for all the help and love you showed me. Much LOVE!....

Bonnie
We recently, last year, had a conversation in Whole Foods. I read about your husband Tom’s death just today and I send my thoughts your way. Please give my regards to Michael and Matt. As you may recall my husband Bruce Hauptman passed away three years ago. I know some of the feelings you may be experiencing. Gratitude, a good life and time are with you. May you be surrounded by love- Nancy Fuller

Tom was a compassionate visionary who changed the course of countless lives of young people, families, staff and colleagues. A love story and partnership with Bonnie, 3 wonderful kids and a delightful extended family were truly his blessings and blessings he shared with us. The world is a better place for the path that Tom traversed. I was blessed and remain forever humbled to have been chosen by him to participate in his vision. Holding you and yours in the light always. Much love.

Tom was a great guy. He loved the competition, especially if he was on the underdog team. He let me play on his team at Farr Academy. There I learned about winning for kids who were buried in fear and dismissed for their anger. Tom never quit on his students, his staff or his family. Family was always first, then Farr. James Farr inspired Tom to be a winner, perhaps a champion for many, many young people and of course for his beloved Bonnie and family. I consider him a hero. He did transcend the mysteries, uncertainties, and doubts rising from youthful anti social behaviors, and with Bonnie they created Farr Academy a place where underdogs win. Here's a Beck's toast to you, Tom. Thanks for sharing your passion and caring with me and so many others.

Tom was one of the most influential people I have ever known. A great friend. He gave me my start in education, where I have worked for most of the last 40 years.
He taught me so much about teaching, counseling, sports... and life.
Farr Academy was (and is) one of the best schools in the world.

I was good friends with Meredith back in our school days in Lexington, though unfortunately we haven't kept in touch. I remember many fun times at your house on Redcoat Lane. I saw the obituary in today's Globe and am so sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences to the entire Culhane family.
