THOMAS TERRIO Obituary

TERRIO, Thomas H. Jr. Of Newton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2025. Known affectionately to many as "Tico," he was raised in West Newton, the son of Thomas Terrio, Sr. and Eleanor (Arduino) Terrio. Tom was a proud graduate of Newton High School and Michigan State University. For 35 years, he worked as a heating and air conditioning contractor and managed commercial real estate. He took great pride in his work and had a natural talent for his craft. Known for his great sense of humor and described by many as "one of a kind" and "full of life," Tom embraced each day to the fullest. His interests were wide-ranging: running, skiing, golfing, music, reading, and sports among them; but what he cherished most was spending time with friends. He maintained many circles of friendships, each deeply important to him, and especially treasured the lifelong bonds he formed with classmates from Newton High. Cape Cod, held a special place in his heart since childhood. In retirement, he spent summers at his home in Harwich Port surrounded by friends and family. Tom was also known for his generosity, quietly helping many throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughter Bethany Terrio and her husband, Dean Rosati; Katherine Terrio; and his siblings, Timothy Terrio, Dianne Newton, and Rosanna Gliexner. He was predeceased by his brother George "Toby" Terrio and his sister Gabrielle Mazzola. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, August 18, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Andrew J. Magni & Son Funeral Home, 365 Watertown Street, NEWTON. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 19, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington Street, Newton. From the time I was Tico's campaign manager for his run at class President at Warren Junior High, and his visits in Las Vegas, it was obvious he was a man determined to win in the game of life. Thru the decades his personality and luv of living life his way were his trademark ! RIP my friend.

Tico was a friend since high school. He was always smiling. A joy to be around. Filled with laughter and a standup guy. Our conversations would continue from where we left off.
