ANASTAS, Vasilika (Adams) Of Quincy, formally of South Boston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the age of 110. Vasilika was born in Korçë, Albania, on December 15, 1912, to the late John and Sofia Adams. Beloved wife of the late James Anastas. Sister to the late Katina Mitrushi, Jenka Melo, Spiro Adams and Rako Adams. Devoted aunt to Dita (Mitrushi) Hennessey, Alexander and Brenda Mitrushi, and the late Mary (Mitrushi) Beaudry, Lillian (Mitrushi) Flaherty and Anthony Mitrushi. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews across multiple generations. Vasilika immigrated to the United States in 1933, and settled in South Boston. She worked as a stitcher at the Cable Raincoat Co., and then retired as a Sales Associate from Filenes Department Store in Boston. Vasilika loved to travel and spend time with family. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at South Cove Manor of Quincy for their care and compassion. Vasilika and her husband were Red Sox season ticket holders. She often spoke of watching Ted Williams play. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the Visiting Hours on Friday, from 10-10:30 AM in St. George Albanian Orthodox Cathedral, 523 East Broadway, South Boston, MA 02127, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM. So sorry for your loss.

My mother's name was Vasilika Anastas. She was born in Korce in 1931 and came to Somerville, MA when she was 6 months old. She died in 2018 at the age of 87. Her father was Christo Anastas (1900-1962) and her mother was Terpsikori (1906-1941). My mother married John McCarthy in 1954, who everyone in the Albanian community knew as Mac. They were married for 63 years. Their closest friends were George and Val Legor and Nick and Marion Adams. My parents and grandparents are buried in Forest Hills Cemetery.
Your mother died on the 6 year anniversary of my father's death.
