DEMPSEY, Verner S. "Bud" Of Lexington, Nov. 6, 2009. Husband of Marie (Daly) Dempsey. Father of Stephen A. Dempsey and his wife Cheri of Jamaica Plain, John P. Dempsey and his wife Mary Scott of Brookline, Thomas W. Dempsey and his wife Isabel of Skopelos, Greece, David Dempsey and his wife Jean of Montague, and Maria Gould and her husband Kenneth of Houston, TX. Brother of Dorothy Steele of Dennisport and the late Philip Dempsey. Grandfather of Amy, Edward, Sarah, Christopher, Alison, Miranda, Brita, Kate, Anneka, and Jackson. Bud is also survived by 1 greatgrandchild, Kahlin, and by many nieces and nephews. U.S. WWII Army Corps Veteran; Former Deputy for Logistics Air Force Cambridge Research Labs; Parishioner at Sacred Heart Church since 1951. Visiting Hours will be held Sunday, November 8 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON, from 4-8 PM. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 10 at 9am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart Church, Lexington, at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to VNA of Middlesex East Hospice, 607 North Avenue, Wakefield MA 01880; or to the charity of your choice. Private interment Mass. Dearest Dempseys,
Thinking of you all at this time of Thanksgiving. I'm sure you all missed Bud's quiet presence and his Thanksgiving blessing, but hopefully you also could feel thankful for the many years you had him and the warmth of those memories.
After his passing I said a silent prayer to my mother and told her to set another place at the table. I have little doubt that there was a heavenly Thanksgiving of Green Hill folks going on so Bud is in good company.
