VICTOR SAGANEY Obituary

SAGANEY, Victor J. Of Pembroke, passed away at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, MA. Born in Cambridge, MA, to the late Victor and Mildred (Carmella) Saganey. Long time resident of Pembroke, MA. Survived by his sister, Virginia J. (Jeanne) DeVore, of Pittsburgh PA, niece, Michelle Varner, grandniece, Selleena Varner and nephew, Vincent G. Rae, all of Pittsburgh, PA and many cousins. He was the East Coast representative of Fanny Farmer Candy Co. for many years. A sports fanatic, a true hockey nut, having played on the Plymouth Police and Fire Department teams and every pick up team he could find. He loved everything from the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, Celtics and anything Boston. Lover of animals, be they great or small. Never stopped missing his dog, Kia, his Vito and Carmella, named after mother and dad. He fed them before himself. A kind and gentle soul. Loved Pembroke, living on Furnace Pond among the wildlife, birds, fish, especially the herring and it's run. He lived his life as Robert Hastings urged in his poem "The Station". So stop pacing the aisles and counting the miles, instead swim more rivers, climb more mountains, kiss more babies, count more stars, laugh more and cry less, go barefoot oftener, eat more ice cream, ride more merry go rounds, watch more sunsets, life must be lived as we go along, the Station will come soon enough. Meet me at the station, Jeanne. There will be no viewing and interment will be private per his wishes. I would like to thank the Ebert and Pinkham families for their kindness and love of Victor. If desired, donations in Victor's name can be made to The Council on Aging, Center Ave., Pembroke, MA 02359 or Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, 330 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215, Attention: Dr. N. Skinner and ICU Staff.

Vic:
You were a great and faithful friend to us for many, many years. Thank you for everything you did for us. As far as I'm concerned, you are "the oldest barefooter in the world.

Good bye our friend. We love you.

As long as I have been in Pembroke there has been a Saganey living on Park St. They have been the best neighbors anyone could ask for. I keep looking over at the house to see if the light is on, it's always on. Who will call me on my birthday & sing & give me my next year lighthouse calendar. I am so happy that I had you in my life, I will miss you for ever. I am sure your Mom, Dad & Kia will be waiting for you. No more pain, Vic.
I'll ask the Bruins to win the Stanley Cup for you next year.
RIP
