I met Vito some time ago while I was out walking my poodle Charley, and he was walking his dog, Max. I found Vito to be a very interesting gentleman. He liked to call me Stashu, which is what friends and family call me. When we weren't stopping to let our dogs socialize while we chatted, I would often see Vito either taking Max to Albermarle Park for a run, or returning. Max would jump up and bark at us as they went by. I know he had had a couple of falls, and I think the last time I had seen him he was walking without Max, around the block, and without his cane (hard-headed, I think!). I hadn't seen him in a while, and had to stop walking my dog in February due to knee replacement surgery. I just heard about his passing yesterday from a neighbor, one of the first times I've been out walking Charley in a while. Charley especially liked Vito because he would share Max's treats with him. We'll miss him.

Gary,
My deepest sympathies - and sorry I couldn't make the funeral. Sounds like he was (not surprisingly) an incredible guy and fortunate to have such a great family.
With warm regards,
John Morse
