WALTER F. FINN

FINN, Walter F. 84, of Norwell, formerly of Dorchester and Quincy, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 30. Devoted husband of Joan P. (Egan) Finn, beloved father of James and his wife Gail of North Andover; Joanne Foley and her husband Bob of Sharon, NH; Michael and his wife Patti of Norfolk; and Daniel and his wife Deborah of Wollaston. Loving grandfather of Katelyn Setzler and her husband, Dean; Andrew Foley and his wife Lindsay; and Brian, Megan, Kevin, Emily, Michaela, Kasey and Christopher Finn. Great grandfather of Emma, Brianna, and Aiden Setzler and Rowan Foley. Walter is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Robert Finn of Aurora, CO and Edward Finn of Avon, MA. Born in Boston, Walter was a 1947 graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School. He worked as a route driver for the Boston Globe for 30 years before retiring in 1999. Walter bowled professionally in candlepin leagues and tournaments for many years, and was the Candlepin Bowling World Champion in 1961. An avid Boston sports fan, Walter also enjoyed playing cards, greyhound racing, and most importantly, spending time with his family. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in HANOVER on Thursday from 5-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9 AM in St. Helen Church, 383 Washington St., Rte 53 in Norwell. Burial in Washington St. Cemetery in Norwell.
