Wanda PATTON Obituary

PATTON, Wanda Wanda Patton made her transition on September 6, 2023. Wanda leaves her loving mother, Eulalia Patton; and her loving siblings: Jacqueline Patton, Tony Patton, Paul Patton and Sean Patton. She was predeceased by her sister, Dawn Hampton (1962--2023). She is mourned by her sons, Derek and Jonathan French; and by her extended family, friends and colleagues.

Wanda was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on August 18, 1954. Her family soon moved to Chicago, Illinois where her mother raised her, along with five younger siblings.

Wanda received a B.S. in Psychology & Social Work from MacMurray College (1972-1976), followed by a Master's in Social Work from Boston University (1976-1977). Wanda then embarked on a long career in the Department of Social Services in Massachusetts. During that time, she earned a degree from The New England School of Art & Design (1982-1984).

Eventually Wanda decided to focus on Interior Design. She was employed by Allmerica Financial (1994-1996), Workspace Designs (996-2000), Corporate Interiors (2000-2001) and Haworth Office Furniture (2001).

In 2002, Wanda decided to venture out on her own. This resulted in Wanda Patton Design (2002) and soon she combined forces with Liz Nola and created Nola Patton Design Collaborative (2003-2016). Their focus was on health care clients and they serviced Brigham & Women's Hospital, as well as Faulkner Hospital, both in Boston. They designed the executive suites, the conference rooms, and the waiting rooms, etc., and were responsible for project management.

In 2017, Wanda Patton started Patton Design Collaborative, continuing with Brigham & Women's Hospital and Faulkner Hospital as clients. This included designing the office of the President of Faulkner Hospital. Wanda retired in 2022.

Wanda was especially sophisticated in her attire. She had eclectic musical tastes and Wanda loved to dance. She's surely dancing still!
