Warren LEWIS Obituary

LEWIS, Warren B. Of Abington, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2024, surrounded by his wife, Helen; and his three children, Stephen, Kimberly and Jennifer. He was the eldest son of Katherine and Warren Lewis, born in Brockton, Massachusetts on September 12, 1941. He was predeceased by his brother, Edward Lewis; and his sister, Anne Heston. He is survived by his brother, Michael Lewis of Stoughton who shared his birthday. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Lewis to whom he was married for 58 years; his children, Stephen Lewis and his wife, Kristen, Kimberly Figueiredo and her husband, John and his daughter, Jennifer Lewis-Pierce and her wife, Mary. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Julia, Caleb, Matthew, Samuel, Sophia, Parker and Vivian. He was a teacher for 43 years in the city of Quincy. He taught at the Montclair, Mass Fields and Squantum schools. He loved teaching and that love shown through his creative lessons. He remained close to his teacher colleagues over the years in book club and regular breakfast get-togethers. He loved reading and shared that passion with his family and friends. He loved movies, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, traveling and comedy of all kinds, from Buster Keaton to John Candy. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh. He enjoyed entertaining and cooking meals for family and friends, hosting fourth of July, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve game night. He volunteered at the Whitman Food Pantry for many years. He will be missed greatly by all his family including his in-laws, Ken and Vicki Watlington; and their family; and John R. Barr, III and his family and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He left his mark on us and the world that will not soon be forgotten. Think of him when you hear a joke or a funny story and know that he would be laughing with you. Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, ABINGTON, on Monday, September 16, from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral Service on Tuesday, in the Quealy Funeral Home, at 10am.
