JOE DEFELICE

I just heard today of the passing of Mr Coughlin. My sympathy to his family. I had him for a teacher way back in 1983 at MINUTEMAN TECH HIGH SCHOOL.
He was a real hip guy!
Our first day of class he gave us the run down on how things would be, but he did so wielding a golf club the whole class! I said to myself, "this teacher is gonna be cool!
R.I.P. Mr Coughlin.
JOE DEFELICE.

Bill Coughlin was my history teacher, football and golf coach at Minuteman Tech class of `89.
But beyond that he was a huge influence in my life with the lessons that he taught me as a young high school kid figuring it all out.
I still remember the entry he signed into my year book, "The cream always rises to the top, remember that in how you treat yourself and others and you will always be playing in first position."
First position was the top position on the golf team, but the the lesson was about how to conduct yourself in life.
To this day nearly 25 years later, those words still ring in my head and when in a tough spot, I often think, what would coach do.
