Catherine, Harrison and baby Davis, know that your father loved you beyond words. He once told me "Who knew that it would be like this? Bill was a great friend to me and I'll always have fond memories of our time together in Vermont, Newport, Beacon Hill, or our impromptu runs and daddy play dates with the kids. He had a knack for bringing people together and was always fun to be around. We shared many adventures that will always be cherished.

Dear Laurie, Harrison, Catherine and all of Bill's family, I know that there is little words can do to ease your pain right now, and our thoughts and prayers are with you. Bill touched so many lives and brought so many people together. Bill's smile was contagious, you could not help but be happy in his presence. He wanted others to share in his zest for life. Phyllis & I remember well all the wonderful memories watching Bill grow up. He was such a joy to be around, always smiling, always happy. We watched him play football, he was very aggressive on the field and played much bigger than he was and we assume he was the same in his career and his life. We have been away for 25 years, but every time we have seen him, he was a joy to be around. Our condolences to his immediate family. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him. I have known Bill for 10+ years and worked with him through a variety of roles. Bill was one of those rare individuals that could be laser-focused at his work and at living life with his beautiful family. Bill's fingerprints and influence will remain well beyond “today”. I will always remember Bill for his positive, can-do attitude and ready laugh as we traveled our shared Corio/IBM experience. His ability to lead broad teams to a shared goal and yet keep an eye on details (joking that "I'm an accountant at heart") will continue to be an inspiration to his colleagues. I will always remember Bill's smile and the smile in his voice when we spoke on the phone. He was always a vibrant presence in every setting we shared. So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. Although I have many fond memories of Bill from our "Babson Days" perhaps the most vivid is when he taught me how to rollerblade (along the Charles River) and raced up to catch me before I crashed, literally picking me up (while skating full speed) and carrying me safely down the concrete stairs that were directly ahead. A fitting metaphor for his kind heart, good nature, and willingness to be there for a friend...
