Of Scituate, February 2, 2006 at South Shore Hospital. Loving husband of 53 years to Sheila (Ahern). Devoted father of Daniel J. of Pembroke, Joan of Scituate, Linda A. Flanagan of Scituate, Mark W. of Pembroke, Gail R. Thorndike of Needham, Brian of Scituate, Mary Beth David of Cromwell, CT and the late Susan Reid. Brother of Charles Reid of Revere, James of Escondido, CA, Alyce Elworthy of Wilmington. Also survived by 14 grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Anthony's Church, Cohasset, Monday, February 6, 2006 at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St (across from St. Anthony's Church) COHASSET on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in William's memory may be made to the South Shore Visiting Nurses Assoc., PO Box 859060, Braintree, MA 02185-9060, or to the Scituate Etrusco Assoc., 1 Common St., Scituate, MA 02066. I have fond memmories of riding my bike to your house during the summer and seeing your father washing the car in the driveway. My thoughts and prayers with the whole family during this difficult time.
