Back in the late 40's, my father, Dan Tarullo, a restauranteur,
befriended a young man returning from WWII. He was selling coffee and donuts out of his wood-sided station wagon, but he had a dream of
serving food to people at their jobsites. He had the dream, but needed capital to start up. My father, a very generous man, lent Bill Rosenberg $1,000, which Mr. Rosenberg later repaid in full.
Mr. Rosenberg founded Industrial Caterers, sending 125 trucks out to businesses every day for coffee and lunch breaks. My father was head chef for this operation. Eventually, the catering business gave way to Dunkin' Donuts.
I have a beautiful picture of Mr. Rosenberg taken at my wedding in Nov. 1952.
He continued to show his appreciation to my father until my father's passing in 1975.
I've always felt genuine pride in knowing that my father was a major part of a young man's fulfillment of his dream - the American dream.

Karen and I were terribly saddened to learn of Bill's passing. Truly, he was a uniquely special man who touched everyone who knew him.
We will always remember Bill with great affection and admiration.

I am so sorry to hear about Bill. As a former employee in the Quincy and Randolph Headquarters of Dunkin' Donuts, I will always remember him as being very kind and caring. My thoughts are with you all.
