WILLIAM D. TOBIN

1935 - 2017

TOBIN, William D. Of Holliston passed away on May 15, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Eden J. Tobin and Eleanor (Aileen) Murphy Tobin, and the beloved husband of Anne Smith Tobin for 57 years. Bill grew up in Maynard, graduated from Boston College and served as treasurer of his Class of 1957 for many years. He was a retired officer in the Army Reserves. Bill's career began in accounting at General Motors, but went on to administration at MIT, Deaconess Hospital and retired from UMass Medical Center. Retirement presented him with many interesting opportunities: co-owner of the Holliston Reporter who with his notebook and camera covered everything in Holliston, involvement in lots of town activities, BC events, travelling, skiing, and best of all, wonderful times with his family and friends. Bill leaves his wife Anne, six sons and their families: David and Susan of Wellesley, Christopher and Jane of Holliston, Paul and Christine of Holliston, Matthew and Elisa of Medway, Andrew and Patricia of Franklin, and Michael and Nena of Brewster. He was most proud of his 15 grandchildren who all had the same last name. His wake will be on Monday, May 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington Street, HOLLISTON and his Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Washington Street in Holliston. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St.Mary's music program or the Friends of Holliston Trails, Inc. c/o Marc Rosenfeld, 7 Springdale Circle, Holliston, MA 01746.
