I can remember serving alongside with Zack at Parris Island in Beaufort, SC. Very down to earth guy, truly one of a kind and a great friend. You will be miss my brother. My deepest condolences to the Mayo family.....!!!

My deepest condolences for your loss of Zack. I cannot begin to imagine the pain and loss you are feeling. Zack was such a loving, kind, friendly, and happy person. He was always such a pleasure to be around and I am grateful for him to have been a part of my life. I will always look back at our childhood memories and remember his warm hugs and bright smile. Zach my fellow brother in arms, far too early for you to go and so much left to do. You were the one who came to see me when I was at 78G in Bedford VA and you will never know how much that meant to me. I know your smiling face brought great joy to me as well to all the people who had the privaledge of knowing you. Not only has the town of Wilmington taken a big hit but also the Veteran community of Wilmington. The last time I saw you was outside of Lou's office as we talked about our commen problems as a result of Combat PTSD. You were one of Lou's "Kids" and that veteran family will not be the same without youYou will be held in my heart till we meet again in Valhalla..I Love you brother. To the Mayo family and friends my deepest condolences for your loss.. you raised an amazing man who grew to be a defender of this country and his fellow service members lives.
