Dear Betsy, Mary, Molly, Chris, Rick, Cathy and Charlie's grandsons,
We are so saddened by the news of Charlie's passing. His colleagial friendship was missed when he left SMMA to move to Florida. Charlie was an encyclopedia of code and construction knowledge. He was my "right hand" and good friend for many years. We always enjoyed Charlie's humor, stories and great company. Betsy, we remember the evening you and Charlie were married and how perfect your union was. We are so sorry Charlie will no longer be with his own and the SMMA families.
Love,
Corky Miller

Betsy- I'm so sorry to learn of Charlie's passing! I came back to SMMA in 2009 and since then heard that I missed his visit. When I look back on my career, he was definitely in the top two of the most important people I ever had the pleasure of working with/for. He was brilliant and at the same time a regular guy. He was a gift to all of us who had the privelidge to learn from him. Again, my deepest condolences to you and the girls (I have two now too).

Betsy,
I was sorry to learn the sad news. Since your move to Florida, I have missed seeing you and Charlie. However, last fall I did get an opportunity to see Charlie when he came to Cambridge and SMMA for a visit ... as usual, I found myself smiling and laughing in his good natured and happy company.
Charlie was liked and admired by clients and colleagues for his straight-forward and technically knowledgable approach to architecture and design.
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Betsy,
My association with you and Charlie was only for a few years but I certainly looked forward to my annual phone calls to him. It was also my pleasure to finally meet him the last time he was up visiting SMMA. From everything I saw and heard, he was a special person who touched a lot of people.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of your family.

Betsy,
I'm so very sorry to hear of Charlie's sudden passing. He was a wonderful man who will forever be missed. Underneath that thick skin he showed us all there was one of the warmest and nicest guys one could ever have the pleasure of knowing. I consider myself fortunate to have known him. I, like many will treasure my times spent working with him at SMMA where he will forever be part of our family. He cannot be replaced but he will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Love Joe
