Cosimo Armando Raffoni

passed away peacefully surrounded by his children and loved ones on October 10, 2022 at age 81. Charlie was a Boston native born to the late Cosimo and Francesca Raffoni of Sicily. He attended Boston Latin School and Boston College prior to founding United Coffee Service in 1969, a family run business for nearly 50 years. Charlie was well known in the community and rarely went anywhere without running into a friend or acquaintance he knew through his business or social activities. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sons of Italy and The Ancient and Honorable Society. Charlie is survived by his children. His daughter, Melissa Raffoni, her partner Philip Clermont and his grandchildren Graham and Tatum Rivers all of Rye Beach, NH. His son Chuck Raffoni of Chelmsford, MA. His sister Joanne Freeman of Roslindale, MA. His longtime companion, Margaret Lavoie of Dedham, MA. As well as many lifelong friends, former employees and other connections who appreciated his support and advice as part of their chosen family. Charlie will be remembered for lighting up a room with his ability to connect with people from all walks of life, generosity, great stories and energy he would bring to the dance floor of the many weddings, parties and events that he always enjoyed attending. A viewing will be held Friday, October 28th at Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury from 4-8 p.m. On October 29th, Friends and Family are welcome to gather at Gormley's at 10:30 a.m. for a procession to burial at St. Michael Cemetery in Roslindale followed by a celebration of life from Noon-4 p.m. at The Elks Lodge 1 Morrell St, West Roxbury. Lunch will be served and those who knew and loved Charlie are welcome to share stories to celebrate a life well lived. In lieu of flowers consider a donation to The Shriners.
