David Weichel Obituary

David Weichel of South Boston passed away on June 16, 2023 at Massachusetts General Hospital at the age of 70. David was born to Gloria Hamblin of South Boston and Fred Weichel of Brockton on January 14, 1953.

David was one of those people with a strong personality, you either loved him, hated him, or sometimes even both. He loved to share his stories of struggles, trials, and triumphs usually starting his stories off with "There I was, minding my own business, like I normally do …" in the hopes that it would help others with their own struggles. He found inspiration from a children's story he wrote about a duck being saved and "Do it for the duck" became his mantra. To say that David was a complicated man, is an understatement, but he was and will always be, loved unconditionally by his family.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Hamblin. His Father, Fred Weichel. His brother Stephen Weichel. He is survived by his brother, Fred Weichel of South Boston. His 2 sisters, Lorraine Weichel of South Boston, and Patricia Clough of Boston. His Daughter, Melissa Greenwood of Manchester NH. His Grandson, Daniel Greenwood Jr. His niece, Lisa Marie Thomes and Nephew, Steven Clough. Also, his extended family, Betsy Weichel and Paul Zaremba.

There will be a private Celebration of life held at a later date.
