77, of Whitman since 1972, passed away at home May 11, 2021 surrounded by family. Born in Everett and raised in Malden, he was a son of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Stevens) Fahey. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War then the Reserves. He became a master electrician by trade, was a 55-year member of Union Local 103, and retired from the switch and signal control division of the MBTA. Jim was trained in drafting at Wentworth Institute, taught at the Local 103 for decades, and for TRACES in Hingham, Hull and Weymouth. Jim served as a member of the Code Panels for both Massachusetts and the National Electrical Codes. As the beloved husband of Mary A. (Kirwan) Fahey for 49 years, he was a dedicated family man. Jim was a former Boy Scout Troop 22 leader in Whitman and coached youth baseball there. Jim and Mary were communicants of the former St. Casimir Church in Brockton and he volunteered there and at St. Casimir School where Mary worked for over 20 years until its closing.
