WAKELY James M., of New Hampshire, formerly of Somerville and longtime Medford resident, July 17. Owner of Paddock Caf in Somerville for 25 years. Beloved husband of Elaine (Scolley) Wakely. Devoted father of Donna Geer and her husband John of Stoneham, David Wakely of New Hampshire. Loving grandfather of Dylan Geer, and his grandson in heaven David Geer. Brother of Michael Wakely and his late partner Art, Sandra Davin and her late husband Bob, all of Woburn, Marcia Hillson and her husband Lonnie of Melrose, Gregory Bouchard and his wife Joanne, Doreen Caliri and her husband Anthony, all of Woburn, Daniel Bouchard and his companion Sandy, Lisa Layton and her husband Mark, all of Medford, and the late Marilyn. Brother-in-law of Cynthia Bouchard of Winthrop, Patricia Travers and her husband George of Medford, the late Carol Trainer and her husband George of Florida. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Saturday, July 25 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 3 - 8 PM. Services for James will be conducted along with those for his son, David Wakely, and will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. As an expression of sympathy contributions may be sent in Jame’s name to the David Geer Scholarship Fund, c/o Stoneham High School, 149 Franklin St., Stoneham, 02180. Dears Elaine, Donna and Dave,

May god bless you all. I did not know Jimmy had passed away, neither about the young David. I'll keep them both in my prayers from now on. It's been a long time since I left the US. I'm still grateful for all you've done for me when I lived there. It changed my life in so many ways. Once in a while I tell some of the stories about Jimmy and Dave and The Paddock. I remember one of Jimmy's favorite. He used to tell his friends and they all laughed and wanted to buy me beers after they heard the story. It's about the free drink we workers could have after we finished our shifts. I rarely took it. Very rarely I used to take a beer (always Heinekens line Jimmy) from the bar and give it to one of the guys in the kitchen. But it was not common. One day Dave asked me why I wouldn't sit at the bar and spend a little bit of the fabulous amount of money I was making at the time. Instead of answering his question I simply reply: "about that Dave, can I get all my beers that I didn't have at once?" He laughed. And every time for weeks he passed me at the pizza kitchen he would say something about. He told Jimmy and Jimmy told everyone in a special way, saying that I wanted to collect 10 cases of Heinekens and all that I thought the Paddock owed me. :)) I love you all. I always have you in a special place in my heart! My deepest sympathies! God Bless you!

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and friends as we grieve Mr. Wakely's passing. I have many fond memories of neighborhood gatherings while we were all hanging at Hickey Park.
