Joseph Legarda Obituary

LEGARDA Joseph E. of Weymouth, passed away at home surrounded by his family after a long illness on November 10, 2012. Joe proudly served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Truck Driver for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 25, the Weymouth V.F.W., and former member of the Weymouth Sons of Italy. He enjoyed playing softball and was an avid sports fan, especially hockey. He will be remembered as a kind, unassuming and hardworking family man. Beloved husband of Andrea (Dalto) Legarda of Weymouth. Devoted father of Eric J. Legarda of Norwood, Joseph L. Legarda of Weymouth, and Wayne Michiel of Las Vegas. Loving son of the late Angelina Gagnon. Cherished Papa of Justine, Lara, Bryan, Nathan, Shawna, and great-granddaughter Alana Marie. Dear cousin of Carol Alexandrou of Freetown. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the McDonald Funeral Home, EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Relatives and friends will gather in the Funeral Home at 8:00 A.M. on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth, at 9:00 A.M. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joseph may be made to Hospice of the South Shore and South Shore Visiting Nurses, 30 Reservoir Park Dr., Rockland, MA, 02370.
