Madelyn J. "Maddy" Spencer

SPENCER Madelyn J. "Maddy" (Babson) Spencer, 89, passed away on April 6, 2013, after a long illness, in Norway, Maine. The daughter of Charles and Grace Babson, she was born and raised in Cambridge and lived there many years after her marriage before moving to first, Newington and then Trumbull, Connecticut. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 62 years, William L. "Buddy" Spencer, in June of 2010. Madelyn leaves behind a loving son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Marjorie Spencer of Denmark, Maine and many nieces and nephews. Madelyn was a proud graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School and worked as a secretary before devoting herself to homemaking. Maddy and Buddy traveled extensively, had a wide circle of lifelong friends and both loved nothing more than a good party. A Funeral Service will be held in the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, 329 Bunker Hill St., CHARLESTOWN on Wednesday, April 10 at 11 o'clock. Visitation prior to the Service beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Parking area opposite Funeral Home.
