To the Boyle family,
My memories of "Mr. Boyle" or "Coach" Boyle are memories of his time and sacrifices to coach us into manhood. He taught me how to find my inner toughness in competition or difficulty. I always felt his presence when I needed to dig deeper.
With respect and admiration,
An alumnus of WHS Hockey and Track and Northeastern U. Rowing

I can only add to the many words of praise for Matthew Boyle, Sr. that he was a unique man made of the only finest timber and gentlemanly spirit. A class act and a man all of us would do well to aspire to become. My only regret in having the honor of his acquaintance was that I took advantage of far too few opportunities to know him better. He will missed by all those whose good fortune it was to share his world.
Semper Fidelis, Sergeant Boyle. Guard the streets of Heaven like you guarded all those whom you loved.

I was so fortunate to have known such a wonderful man. Mr. Boyle was my Vice Principle also. He had a way with the students at our school that was stern but yet gentle. He truly was a class act. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. Matt Boyle will always be a fond memory for Winthrop.

Winthrop was very fortunate to have had such a wonderful teacher, friend and administrator as Mr. Boyle. He was a favorite teacher of mine in school and also for our 4 children. He had such a wonderful smile, positive attitude and always kind words for all. And such a true American, who was so proud of his family and his country! He will be missed!

To Audrey and family,
It is with extreme sadness on hearing of the loss of your husband, father, grandfather and most importantly educator. Matt made a huge impact on hundreds of lives in his role as educator and administrator at Winthrop High School. He was a mentor and role model to all teachers like myself. He will be missed by all.

Mr. Boyle was the Assistant Principal during our time at Winthrop High School. He was a great man, with a wonderful smile and a very dry sense of humour. We had the good fortune of seeing him again at the Winthrop Teachers Retirement party 2 years ago. He hadn't changed one bit. You are all blessed to have had such a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. May he rest in eternal peace.
