Marilyn Kumph Obituary

Marilyn Ann (Lis) Kumph, 81, of Boulder City, Nevada, passed away on April 9, 2021 after a 45-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born to parents William M. Lis and Rose (Greene) Lis, on August 17, 1939 in Cohoes, NY. Marilyn lived in many places around the country during her life including Colorado, Maine, and Massachusetts, finally settling in Nevada in 1984. Marilyn met her husband, Clifton W. Kumph, Jr. while she was living and working in Boston, MA in 1959. They were married on May 14, 1960 in Rochester, NY. Together they raised 2 children. Marilyn was the proud owner of Happy Valley Flower Shop in Hanson, MA. The back of her shop, featuring a ping pong table and stereo, was a favorite place for her teenage children and their friends to spend time. She also owned Laura's Flower Nook, Boulder City, NV in the early 1990's and managed the floral departments in 2 of Boulder City's supermarkets. Marilyn is survived by her daughter Valerie Curby and husband Michael of Las Vegas, NV, daughter Lauren Kumph of Boulder City, NV, brother William Lis of Myrtle Beach, SC, grandsons Evan Curby of Eugene, OR and Andrew Curby of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by her 2 nieces Rebecca Doucet and Kristen Lis and 2 nephews Michael Lis and Matthew Lis. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Rose Lis, husband Clifton W. Kumph Jr. and, her brother Bruce M. Lis. Services will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021, 11:00 am, at Hemenway Park, 401 Ville Dr., 8 9
