Jim was a guy who just got stuff done and with a smile. I will always appreciate our friendship and remember his generosity and kindness to so many. My sincere condolences to his family.

Bill always had a smile and fun to talk with. IT was a fun time we had when he came to Alaska on a tour.

Bill was an amazing who did many generous things during his life. He supported Townsend and its residents many ways.
He was one of a group that insured Townsend got a swimming pool after many years of folks swimming in a gravel pit on the edge of town or the Missouri River.
Townsend got a new High School in 1965 with a generous sized gym as the only could support a small crowd.
He was very active in Military Affairs and I was able to assist with a KC 135 refueling ride from Spokane to refuel F 16 `s from the Montana Air National guard. And many in the military affairs enjoyed the flight and treated the crew to a nice dinner party after the flight.
He assisted many college students with the government supported college loan program.
He assisted the local rodeo which drew large crowds each year as well.
He was a great supporter of the Montana Grizzlies and attended most games as well.
I can“t think of anyone who did more to support Townsend in every way than Bill.
Sorry to hear of his passing.

So many great memories with limited space. That's why I have extended an invitation to Bill's daughter Mary and son Jamie to join me this summer in my garden for a reminiscent ceremony. I'll need that amount of time to collect thoughts on some great memories. For now suffice it to say that I am ever appreciative of Bill's support in helping find me work; his generosity (whether it was balloons for the kids or contributions to causes such as Farm In The Dell); his love of community (it it's a good Townsend cause, Bill was in the forefront); the laughter we shared (that's endless); our side trips (the limousine ride to Chico, the soak at White Sulfur come immediately to mind); the very apparent love he had for his family) are but few, very few of the good memories I have of this very good, very kind man. To give this man's memory justice I will need all the time I have between now and the summer garden gathering. Rest in peace my friend.
