Janice Howlett Obituary
Janice was born on May 1, 1944 in Sterling, Colorado to parents Lester and Shirley Hecht. She grew up and attended school in Sterling and earned her diploma at Northwestern Junior College.
Janice married the love of her of her life, Warren Richard Howlett Sr., in Kimball, Nebraska on May 20, 1966. The pair then moved to Gillette, Wyoming to raise their family.
Throughout the years Janice was a stay at home mom while operating a preschool and a daycare service out of her home. She also worked a number of years as a caregiver for mentally handicapped and disabled patients. After that, she worked in the Clerk of District Court office in Gillette, where she eventually retired from after many years of dedicated service.
Janice was a devoted mother to three children of her own, as well as three stepchildren. She was also an amazing grandmother and through the years helped raise several of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Janice loved angels, animals, and many types of music. Her favorite artist of all time was Elvis Presley; she was a devoted fan. She also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and loved camping, hunting, and fishing with her family. One of her most favorite activities was taking long scenic drives with her husband, Warren, to whom she was happily married for over 30 years.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Howlett Sr.; brother, Ronald Hecht; father, Lester Hecht; mother, Shirley Hecht; stepson, Warren Howlett Jr.; and daughter, Stacey Lynn Howlett. She is survived by her sister, Sharon Hecht; sons, Daniel Howlett and David Howlett; stepdaughters, Victoria Howlett and Pamela Howlett; and an ever-growing number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family requests no flowers or gifts be sent, and instead ask for donations or contributions to the ALS Association, PO Box 37022, Boone, Iowa 50037-0022.
