Linda Sikveland Obituary

Linda L. Sikveland, 73, of Bozeman, Montana, passed away June 18, 2017. She was born Nov. 21, 1943, to Wray and Clara (Bangs) Lobdell in Rapid City, South Dakota. She grew up in Caputa, South Dakota, before moving to Rapid City where she graduated from Rapid City High School. She then attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.

She married Torger S. Sikveland on March 30, 1967, for the next 27 years they ranched north of Winnett, Montana. After selling the ranch, she operated the Sweet Six Restaurant in Lewistown, Montana. In 1997, Linda moved to Austin, Texas, where she worked as a clerk in several convenience stores until she retired in 2009 and moved to Bozeman to be closer to her children.

Linda was particularly proud of her herd of registered Columbia sheep and large garden. The boys kept a summer side business selling corn to fishermen on their way to Ft. Peck Reservoir. Later in life she enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and coaching youth bowling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Alice Bane; and brother, Warren Sinkler. Linda is survived by her sons, Torger (Kenna) Sikveland of Manhattan, Montana, and Mike S. Sikveland of Glendive, Montana; sister, Gayle Opie; brother, Donn Lobdell; and three grandchildren.
