In Remembrance

Lieutenant General Patrick Marshall Hughes, U.S. Army (Ret.)

September 19, 1942 - October 5, 2024

Service Years: 1962-1965; 1968-1999

Lieutenant General Patrick Marshall Hughes is remembered this Veterans Day for his distinguished service to the United States Army and his lifelong commitment to the defense of our nation. He served two combat tours in Vietnam, where his leadership and courage earned the deep respect of his fellow soldiers.

Rising through the ranks over the decades that followed, he held key command and intelligence positions, culminating in senior roles that shaped U.S. national security policy at home and abroad. General Hughes held key command and intelligence positions, guiding and protecting U.S. forces with wisdom and integrity. His decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, and Air Medal, each a testament to his valor and dedication.

With gratitude and respect, we honor Lieutenant General Hughes - a soldier, a leader, and a patriot whose service and legacy endure this Veterans Day and always.
