Robert Blair Obituary

Robert Jay Blair lost his battle with cancer on September 1, 2025. We will greatly miss our

brother, father, grandfather, and friend.

Jay was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 24, 1950 to Robert & Ruth Blair. His parents

divorced and he moved with his new family to Bozeman, Montana when he was 3 years old. He

was raised by his mother Ruth and step-father, Sherman Lessley. He graduated from Bozeman

Senior High School in 1968.

Jay served in the Army from September 11, 1969 to April 14, 1972. He was a Private 1 st Class.

Decorations and medals were National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and an Expert M-

14. He spent two years stationed in Germany on the Czechoslovakia border.

He worked for Concrete Specialties, Bridger Creek Concrete and United Concrete in Bozeman.

He was an expert in "stamping" concrete and did beautiful work

Jay is survived by his sons, Tyler & Jeremy, daughter Amanda, grandchildren Reign, Alexis,

Taeler, Kayla, Bryce, Braydon, Dillon, & Gage, sister, Barbara Jones, brothers, Mickey Lessley,

Jim Lessley, Tom Lessley, and Terry Lessley, and Charlie Marshall. He is also survived by

numerous cousins.
