Ronald Hummel Obituary

Ronald Scott Hummel

Ronald "Scott" Hummel, 52, of Lewisville, NC. passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with ALS, Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

He was an amazing husband to Denise, devoted father to three daughters and the most fun, playful grandfather to five grandchildren. Denise was the love of his life, and they enjoyed many years of travel and adventure. He especially loved Kauai where they hiked, biked, surfed, kayaked and simply enjoyed each other and the beach.

Scott spent his early years in Bozeman, Montana, where he developed a love of all sports, especially golf. Golf eventually led him to North Carolina, playing on the golf team at Pfeiffer University, where he graduated with a BS in Accounting in 1995. He played in many ProAm tournaments across the country as well as courses all over the world. He especially loved Princeville Makai and Pebble Beach.

Scott was a certified public accountant for Turlington and Company for 27 years and a partner in the firm. A true testament to his personality and character, many of his clients became good friends.

Scott was the epitome of a "people person" and took a true interest in other's lives. He had the ability to make everyone feel comfortable in his presence and truly loved to discuss any subject - from sports to travel to taxes - genuinely listening to everything anyone else had to contribute. His family loved his great sense of humor and how he had an amazing ability to make even everyday life feel exciting. He was always ready for the next adventure and new experience and willing to take everyone along for the ride. No matter the activity, he was "all in."

He felt especially blessed to be a grandfather and had a special, personal relationship with each one. Through play, activities and games, he was selfless in giving of his time and attention. Knowing life was finite, Scott spent his last several years "living for love." He cherished his family, and he fought every day to be present for them and show his love through any form of communication he was able.

He leaves a legacy of a life well-lived, people who are all the better for being known and loved by him, and wonderful memories of times that will forever be cherished.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Hummel; three daughters, Stacie Green (Tom Cook), Jennifer Kass-Green (Lindsey) and Kayli Green; five grandchildren, Luna, Xander, Rylee, Aspen and Piper; his parents Ron and Carol Hummel, two sisters, Kristyn Berry (Bret) and Amy Hummel, a nephew, Ethan, and a niece, Alanna.
