The Rev. Dr. C. David Matthews

died on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Bradenton, Florida. He was born in Ft. Worth, Texas. Graduated from Baylor University, Waco, Texas and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas with a doctorate. He served the following churches, First Baptist Church, Sanger, TX, First Baptist Church, Altus, OK, Seventh and James Baptist Church, Waco, TX, First Baptist Church, Greenville, SC, Christ Community Church, Orlando, FL, and Royal Lane Baptist Church, Dallas, TX. He was a writer of sermons and liturgies and was President of Gold Label Publications and had composed six sacred music compositions which were published. He was married to Susan Matthews of Bradenton, FL. He leaves his children, step-daughter, Catherine Fryback of Los Angeles, CA; son, Kyle Matthews of Greenville, SC; daughter, Kerri Boyette of Hillsborough, NC; his sister, Kay Matthews Bond and family of Waco, TX and four grandchildren. Services will be held on March 27, 2017, 10:30am at All Angels by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 563 Bay Isles Road, Longboat Key, FL 34228. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
